About Us

Twenty or so years ago my daughter finally talked her dad into a family dog. So we bought a book on choosing the best dog breed for your family. Each breed had a page all about temperaments and care, but what caught my eye was a picture in the introduction of a dog with the most gentle expression relaxing in front of a fire place. The caption on the photo said it was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel- but there was no other mention of the breed anywhere else in the book.

That picture led me to my first dog show, so that I could finally see one of these dogs in person. The more I learned about the breed, the more I was convinced that this was the perfect dog for our family. We brought home our first cavalier, Mylie (Lorankas To Have and To Hold), in 2002 and I am just as in love with the breed now as I was then.

Burchamcrest Cavaliers, as it became, is located in Sulpher Springs, Arkansas in the beautiful Ozark mountains. We live on 70 acres that is also home to a flock of chickens and their trusty guard dog Sadie the Great Pyranees.  The dogs enjoy having run of the place, they like to swim in the streams and then of course run in and jump all over the couch.

We are proud to be members of the CKCSC, Cavaliers of the South, and the Northwest Arkansas Kennel Club. We register all of our dogs with the CKCSC and the AKC. We register all our dogs and puppies with the CKCSC and the AKC.  We do health testing on heart, eyes, patellas and hips, and perform genetic testing for for dry eye, curly coat, and episodic falling syndrome on all our dogs and require the same of any outside stud dogs that are used.
